Unruh, Gary L., 81 , passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020. Gary was born on May 22, 1938 in Hillsboro, KS to Lewis and Edna (Penner) Unruh. He attended school in Goessel and later the Wichita Business College. Gary worked for Boeing Computer Services and retired after 35 years. Gary was a member of the Air National Guard and the Magdalen Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Coyotes which was a club of fishing buddies from Boeing. He looked forward to his annual trip to The Lake of the Ozarks with them. He enjoyed woodworking, rebuilding cars, traveling, hunting, fishing, gardening and above all helping people with projects. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed all the time spent with them. Gary lived in a memory care facility for the past 16 months due to Alzheimer's. Gary married Doris Pitman on November 23, 1990 in the McConnell Air Force Base Chapel.

Gary is survived by his wife Doris; children Steve Unruh of Leander, TX, Scott Unruh(Julie) of Missouri City, TX, and Shannon Hill of Andover, KS; step children Scott Pitman(Michelle) of Wichita, and Amy Reardon(Joe) of Kansas City, Kansas; siblings Dennis Unruh(Diann) of Lincoln, NE and Della Wiegand of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren Wiley Unruh, Vivian and Colton Hill, Dominic and Lucas Unruh; step grandchildren Kelsey Tatro, Parker Tatro, Kayley Pitman, Jack and Connor Reardon; step great grandchildren Henry and Sloane; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Merlan and Arline Unruh.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association, The Lord's Diner or Church of the Magdalen Knights of Columbus.

Rosary and eulogies will be at 1:15 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67206 . Inurnment will be in Hillsboro, KS.

We will practice social distancing, ask that you refrain from physical contact and encourage people to wear masks as an act of charity to all others.
