A most beautiful reunion took place in heaven on September 13th , when Dad, Gary Burns, 90, was reunited with his wife, Margie, and his two sons, Sam, and Dan. Gary passed away at his home in Eldorado, Kansas, where he resided for most of his life. 

 Gary was born March 4th, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas, to Charlotte and Clarence Burns. His father died when Gary was three years of age, and his mother remarried Wendell Radar. Together, they raised Charlotte's four sons, Jack, Johnny, Jim, and Gary, and then a sister, Judy, was born from that union. 

 The tough, mean kid who fought all the time eventually changed when he met the love of his life. In 1950, Gary was united in marriage to Margie and the couple resided in El Dorado, Kansas. They raised three boys, Jerry, Sam, and Dan and added multiple dogs to the mix. Gary gave his life to the Lord while listening to the evangelist Billy Graham on television in 1957. Gary and Margie knelt in their living room and gave their lives to the Lord. They joined Temple Baptist Church and immediately served as Sunday School teachers and Gary lead the singing. They taught the college and career class and also worked with the teens for 20 years. Gary then taught the young married class until he retired. In total, they gave almost 45 years in serving at Temple Baptist Church. He was a strong example of hard work pays off and to follow the Lord with all your heart. 

 Gary leaves behind his first born son, Jerry and wife Raylene. Grandchildren include, Tricia (Jason) Harrison, Amanda (Ryan) Witty, Matthew (Darcy) Schuetz, Jerrica (James) Glazier, Abbey (Jason) Zimmerman, Sam's daughters, Tina Burns, Julie (Jake) Gawith; Dan and Viola's daughters, Heather Burns, and Ashley (Frank) Jonas; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. 

 Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, At temple Baptist Church, 925 Douglas Rd. El Dorado. All family and friends are welcome.
