In addition to his professional achievements, Garold was deeply committed to his faith. He became an active member of Metro East Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities. One of his favorite roles was working with the youth group, guiding and nurturing young minds. His involvement in the church community reflected his generous spirit and his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Garold retired from Boeing in 1995, but his passion for engineering and his commitment to his work called him back to the company a few years later. He continued to contribute his expertise until his second and final retirement in 2015.
Family was at the heart of Garold's life. He cherished the time spent with his wife, Vonnie, and their daughters, Connie, Cynthia, and Cathryn. Garold was a devoted father and grandfather, always making time for camping trips, fishing excursions, and other family activities.
