HENDERSON, EVELYN MARIE, 87, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Reed's Cove in Wichita. Marie was born on April 26, 1932 in Wesley, Arkansas to William and Lela [Eubanks] Harrison. Marie went to school through the 8th grade then moved to Fayetteville. At the age of 16 she began working at Bear Brand Hosiery Co., where she worked for almost seven years until she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Henderson, whom she married in Hugo, Oklahoma on January 31,1955. They moved to Oklahoma City where they had two children and Marie later earned her GED. Marie was a wonderful wife to Bill, following his passions of barbering and ranching and after he passed away she enjoyed coloring and making baskets of flowers as gardening and flowers were always a passion she held. Priding herself on caring for her children she worked hard to teach them to love and cope with the world around them. She loved animals; especially Susie and Punkie; and people; she loved to have a conversation with you about whatever you were interested in. Marie enjoyed singing; as does her whole family; and Christmas and would always decorate beautifully for the holiday. Her favorite thing however was spending time with her granddaughter Rachel. Marie will be deeply missed and always remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.

M arie is survived by her daughter Sherry Hagemeister(Corey); son Michael Henderson; granddaughter Rachel Marie Henderson; siblings Myrtt Lois Austin, Jo Shrum and Betty Allison and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lela; husband Bill; brothers William and James Earl; and brother-in-laws  Jack, Glyn and Glenn.

G raveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Bruno Township Cemetery, Andover, KS with Chaplain Rocky Schmied presiding.
