Eulia A. "Jackie" Hickey , went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was born in Brownstown, IN, one of 9 children of Frank and Eva (Lucas) Markham, on August 23, 1940. Jackie grew up and attended school in Waverly, KS, where she graduated in 1958.
Jackie married Robert R. Kirkpatrick in 1959. They had one son, John W, born in 1964. They were divorced in 1978.
She married Gary Atchison in 1981. They moved to Stockton, MO. Gary was killed in a farming accident in 1988.
Jackie moved back to Topeka and married Henry Kahle in 1995. He passed away in 2001.
Jackie married Donald Hickey in 2004. He passed away in 2010.
Jackie worked 10 years at Security Benefit Life Insurance Co. before moving to Missouri. While there she dispatched for the Cedar County Sherriff's office. When she moved back to Kansas, she worked 3 years at EBA and 6 years as a secretary for the Kansas Legislature.
Jackie enjoyed gardening, singing, and dancing. In her later years, Jackie enjoyed going to the Senior Centers in Augusta and El Dorado. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 husbands, her son John, 1 brother Joseph and 2 sisters Mary Ann Weiss and Jane Trippiedi.
She is survived by 3 brothers; John (Katie) Markham, DeRidder LA, Dorsett (Noreen) Markham, Vassar, KS and Richard (Rita) Markham, Basehor, KS; 2 sisters Nell Beshirs, Emporia, KS and Lucy (Kenney) Patterson, Perry, KS; her grandson John (Halley) Kirkpatrick, and 3 great-granddaughters; Aryssa, Ainsley, and Adaline Kirkpatrick, Augusta, KS as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in El Dorado, Kansas on Friday May 27, 2022 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
