W e are sad to announce that on December 9, 2021, at the age of 82, Elsa Claire (Overfield) Mefford of El Dorado, KS passed away.

S he was preceded in death by: Father, Elmer R (Dutch) Overfield, Mother, Golda Leoma (Wilborn) Overfield, Husband, Odvia (Dave) Mefford, son, John Andrew Mefford, infant son, Michael Gates, grandson, Michael Lynn Mefford, infant great grandson, Nicolas Dustin Ross-Mefford

S he is survived by: Brother, Russell T Overfield, Children, Vernon Wilson Mefford(wife Penny), David Russell Mefford(wife Theresa), Daughter in law, Belinda Mefford, stepdaughters, Darlene (Mefford) Parker, Debbie (Mefford) Parsons and Carrie Mefford, 15 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 18 Great, Great Grandchildren.

B efore anyone would leave, Elsa would always say "God Keep You Safe". We know in our hearts that God is now keeping her safe until we meet again. Elsa loved to play the piano while Dave played his guitar, and they would enjoy singing together. We all enjoyed those times. She had a beautiful voice, and her favorite songs were, "Blue Christmas" which was the very first song she heard Dave sing, "I'll Fly Away" and "Snowbird". Elsa loved to get together at True Lies and enjoyed the company, as well as the competition. She was an avid reader, loved to play poker, she was quite the card shark. She also had a great sense of humor; she was very quick witted and would really make us laugh and keep us on our toes. Elsa had an eventful life including lumberjacking in Washington State, she belonged to a Gold Mining Association in Arizona, she was a waitress, worked retail, took care of her mother, Golda Overfield, for many years, managed a hotel in California, all while being a devoted wife and mother. She lived life to the fullest and was a true inspiration.

A Graveside service will on Monday, December 20 ^th , 2021, at 2 PM at the Belle Vista Cemetery in El Dorado, KS. Pastor Eddie Peeples Officiating.
