Elmer F. Rohr, 68 , of El Dorado passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2023 in Augusta, KS. Elmer was born on Dec. 14, 1955 in Hays, KS to Alvin and Vera (Pfannenstiel) Rohr, on his mother's 28th birthday.

Elmer grew up in El Dorado and graduated from EHS with the class of 1973. During his high school years, he played the trumpet in band and played football. Outside of school, he followed his German roots and learned to play polkas on the accordion. He attended BCCJC where he earned an Associate's Degree. He then worked in construction at various companies. Later he worked at BCCC, starting in security and then moving to a maintenance and grounds position. He worked there for more than 30 years.

He was proud of his time at Butler, but it was overshadowed by his pride in his sons, Charles and William, and his grandson, Draven. He was also proud of the fact that he was part of a birthday where three generations shared the same date, his mother, himself, and his son, Charles.

Elmer was survived by his sons, Charles "Chuck" (Stacie) Rohr of Arkansas City, KS and William "Scotty" Rohr of Winfield, KS., as well as his grandson, Draven Rohr of Arkansas City.

Also surviving Elmer are his siblings, Rose Rohr of El Dorado, Lila (Butch) Mercer of El Dorado, Donald (Teresa) Rohr of Osborne, KS., Juliann (Gerald) Rowland of Augusta and Judy Rohr of El Dorado. He is also survived by step-brothers, George (Adela) Welty of El Dorado and Richard Welty of Maize. He also had 8 nieces and nephews, 6 step-nieces and nephews, and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by him father and mother, infant brother, Julian, step-mother, Cleo Rohr and step-sister, Irene Macy.

Friends may gather with family Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Home in El Dorado from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in El Dorado on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 at 10:00 am. Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 am.
