Glenn
November 4, 1938 — March 9, 2025
Whitewater
Eleanor Jeanette Glenn, 86
, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, surrounded by the love of her family. Eleanor was born on November 4, 1938, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Oscar and Lila (McCune) Schupp. From an early age, Eleanor's gentle spirit and loving nature were evident to all who knew her.
Eleanor lived in Leon, Douglass, Rose Hill, and Benton graduating from Benton High School class of 58. Soon after she met the love of her life, Don Glenn. They were married on July 3, 1959, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and shared dreams. Their greatest blessing came with the birth of their son, John. After John was born, Eleanor chose to step away from work to devote herself fully to raising her family—a role she cherished above all others.
Eleanor had a creative spirit and a talent for working with her hands. She enjoyed woodworking and was known for her beautiful flower arrangements, often brightening the homes of family and friends with her thoughtful creations. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her family, nurturing her relationships, and creating a warm and welcoming home.
Eleanor's life was a testament to kindness, strength, and unwavering love. She is survived by her beloved son, John Glenn; her cherished grandchildren, Emily Glenn and Don Westin Glenn; and her sisters, Iva Lea Bryant and Agnes Joy Crawford. Eleanor also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her gentle spirit and kind heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lila; her loving husband, Don; and her sister, Rogene Chandler-Goff.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Eleanor's life will be held on April 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Eleanor's legacy of love, creativity, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
