TAYLOR, EDWIN ROBINSON, 76, passed away peacefully at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, surrounded by the love of his family. His life was one defined by resilience, devotion, humor, and a deep-rooted love for those he held dear.

Edwin was born on July 29, 1949, in Middleboro, Massachusetts, to Richard Eaton and Ellen Marie {Williams} Taylor. It was there that he grew up, attended school, and first began shaping the strong, determined spirit that would carry him through life. As a young man, Edwin had a passion for hockey and showed such promise that a future in the NHL once seemed within reach—a testament to both his talent and drive.

In 1969, Edwin answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably in Vietnam until 1972, where he was wounded in combat and awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and sacrifice. That chapter of his life reflected not only courage but also the quiet strength that defined him in the years that followed.

Upon returning home to Middleboro, Edwin began a new and cherished chapter when he married the love of his life, Mary Louise Deane, on September 22, 1972. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and family that began with the birth of their daughter Marie. Edwin was a man of many talents—a true jack of all trades. Whether building boats, working the land, or fixing engines, his hands were rarely still, and his work was always done with care and pride.

Edwin and Mary's journey took them across the country. In 1974, they moved to Arizona, where they welcomed their son John in 1975. Soon after, they relocated to California, where their son Israel was born in 1976. In 1989, Edwin returned to Massachusetts to be closer to his mother during a time when family mattered most.

Beyond his work and service, Edwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid collector of model cars and boats, and he treasured time spent boating and fishing with his brothers. A devoted sports fan, he cheered faithfully for the Patriots and the Bruins, rarely missing a game. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and WWE wrestling, and he could often be found with a deck of cards in hand, playing cribbage or solitaire.

To his family, Edwin was a steady presence—stern when needed, but always loving. He was a father and grandfather who believed in showing up, in teaching by example, and in making sure his family knew they were cared for. He had a well-timed dad joke for nearly every occasion and took great pleasure in telling stories and jokes—whether they landed perfectly or not. His humor, persistence, and unmistakable personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Edwin was also a fighter. As a lung cancer survivor, he faced one of life's greatest challenges with determination and strength, a reflection of the resilience that carried him through his entire life.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, John Taylor, Israel Taylor, and Marie Stacy (Robert P.); his grandchildren, Robert J. Stacy, Nicole Taylor, Samantha Stacy, Jessica Taylor, Ashley Stacy, Matthew Taylor, John Taylor, Jr., Izabella Taylor, Jacob Taylor, and Mackenzie Taylor; and his great-grandchildren, Violet Stacy and Charlotte Denton. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Taylor, Charles Taylor, and Harold Taylor, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ellen; his beloved wife, Mary; his sisters, Florence and Mary; his brothers, Russell and Malcolm; and his stepson, James Dean Taylor.

Edwin's life was one of hard work, loyalty, and enduring love. He leaves behind a legacy not only in the family he built but in the countless memories shared—on the water, around the table, and in the laughter that echoed through the years. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
