WOODARD, DONALD LEE, 69 , passed away peacefully in his home in El Dorado on October 12 surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born in Wichita on October 6, 1951 to Kenneth and Arla (Wellman) Woodard. After growing up in Maize the family moved to the family farm outside El Dorado in the early 60's. He graduated from Leon High School in 1970 and was drafted into the U.S. Army serving 18 months in Baumholder, Germany from 1971 to 1973. Upon returning he met Janet Haworth and they were married on April 19th, 1974. To this union were born 2 children Tad and Jennifer. Donald worked in various businesses in Augusta including L and L Tire, State Street Auto and then spent the last 18 years at D&J Engineering. He loved his Lord, his family and also the Dallas Cowboys.
D onald is survived by his wife Janet of the home; son Tad and Deanne (Stricklin) Woodard; daughter Jennifer and Nick Brown; brothers Mike Woodard(Zona) and Bob Woodard(Jolene); sister Cheryl Norris(Tony); grandsons Riley Brown, Cody Woodard, Dylan Brown, Hunter Woodard and Lucas Woodard and many other family and friends.
V isitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15 at Heritage Funeral Home, 206 E. Central, El Dorado. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16 at Haverhill Christian Church, 10275 SW Haverhill Rd, Augusta and the family asks that you wear jeans to honor Don . Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Interment and Military Honors will immediately follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
