Donald "Don"
Phillip Rensner
February 4, 1959 — April 7, 2020
Andover
RENSNER, DONALD PHILLIP "DON", 61 , Environmental Health and Safety Officer for many large corporations, passed away on April 7, 2020 at his home in Andover. Don was born on February 4, 1959 in Wichita to Delmar and Billie "Crumm" Rensner. When he was 14 he started working at a bowling alley and when they weren't busy he could bowl for free; it became a lifetime passion and his average was well over 200. Don received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from KU and then his Masters in Biology from WSU. As he loved animals he worked at Tanganyika Wildlife Park before it was public. His other passions included being outdoors, fishing, and Geodes and rocks; with a pretty extensive collection bringing them from all over including family vacations where he sometimes brought home whole boulders. His greatest love other than family however was music and his guitars that he enjoyed playing and collecting even more. In line with his passion of music Don sang in the Wichita Symphony Orchestra Chorus for a number of years.
D on is survived by his son Matthew of Salt Lake City, UT; siblings Gary Rensner(Kathe) of Sandia Park, NM, Warren Rensner(Theresa) of Goddard, KS, Mike Rensner(Miriam) of Nethybridge, Scotland; step mother Barbara Rensner; step siblings Kim Claxton(Gene) of Lenexa, Kam Kennedy of Lenexa; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Billie.
