Potter, Dixie Faye (Ziegler), 83, Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed peacefully and went to be with our Heavenly father on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Dixie was born in Madison, Kansas to Eldon and Hilah Ziegler. She was one of five children. She grew up and attended school in Madison and later relocated to El Dorado, Kansas, where she graduated high school.

While residing in Madison, Dixie was a member of the Madison Band Baton Twirlers and was crowned Activity Queen in 1953. She was crowned Annual Queen in El Dorado in 1956.

Dixie was united in marriage to Dale Potter on February 14, 1957. She always said it was love at first sight and that God says to love one another; they did and remained Valentine sweethearts for 64 years.

Dixie's first loves were her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; her husband, and her family. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, cooking, and making Christmas cookies with her grandchildren. She had a love for music which included playing her guitar and other instruments with family and friends. Dixie also enjoyed writing, sewing, and family gatherings during the holidays, especially Christmas and Easter. Her home was a Christmas wonderland.

Dixie Potter's legacy for her children and grandchildren was to create life albums that included pictures, articles, special achievements, and personal notes.

Dixie is survived by her loving husband Dale, her children Brenda (Dirk) Morris, Allen (Becky) Potter, Rhonda (Tom) VanAnne, Teresa (Steve) Gardner, and Dana (Tracy) Schowalter, as well as 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister Sue Cour, and a brother David (Linda) Ziegler. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a great granddaughter..
