DAVIS, DERRICK EUGENE, 23 , born October 16 ^th , 1998, tragically passed away June 10 ^th , 2022, surrounded by love of family and friends. Derrick was the first-born son to Scott Davis of Wichita and Angel Olsen (Fish) of Valley Center.  Derrick mostly grew up in the Andover area eventually attending Andover Central High School where he played basketball, baseball, and football.  Derrick was a gifted athlete and truly excelled as a Quarterback in football and behind the plate as a catcher in baseball.  Derrick's pride was playing football for the Wichita Cowboys and baseball for the Renegades.

Derrick worked at Sydney's Pet Spa as a daycare attendant, Circle C Paving as a Truck Driver/Operator, and Wichita Tree Service as an Arborist.

Derrick always had a love for music, animals, and fast cars. He was a comedian, loved to make people laugh, and loved laughing himself.  Derrick's laughter was contagious. He loved spending time with his brothers and his friends.  Prior to his grandfather Terry's passing, the two were inseparable and could be found together on nearly any sports field in the area.  Terry was Derrick's biggest supporter and fan.

Most recently, Derrick's passion was being with his girlfriend Jhannely and planning for their future son, Derrick Elián Davis.

Derrick is survived by his father Scott, Mother Angel, Stepmother Jennifer Brady, Stepfather Steve Olsen, Brothers Dominik and Darren, and grandmothers Connie Davis and Nancy Siebert, and Girlfriend Jhannely Esparza.  Derrick is preceded in death by his grandfather Terry Davis.

Services to be held Saturday, June 25 ^th , 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Douglas Avenue Assembly of God Church located at 4501 W. Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
