Delores (Frey) Teter passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 77 at St Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.
Delores was born February 23, 1948 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Iris Bruner Frey and Richard Frey. She was the first of three daughters.
After graduating from high school in Mendon, IL, she earned her degree from Wichita State University. While studying at WSU, she met her future husband, Ronal Teter. They married in 1970 and Delores became a devoted Navy wife living in San Diego, CA while Ron served in Vietnam.
After returning to Kansas, Delores enjoyed her passion of teaching for many years at Robinson Elementary School in Augusta. She enjoyed visits from former students during her recent illness. It gave her great pleasure to know she helped so many young children throughout her career in teaching.
She is survived by her husband, Ron, and her beloved pets, Bailey and Gizmo. Also left to cherish her memory are her sisters, DeLayne Wear (Boyce) of Columbia, TN and Rebecca Boyd (Bob) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, brother-in-law, Donald Teter (Irene) of Andover, KS and sister-in-law, Connie Teter of Wichita, KS.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Justin Wear (Edie) of Nashville, TN; Jeremy Wear (Jill) of Annapolis, MD; Rachel Boyd of Casselberry, FL; Mary Vanarsdale (Eric) of Santan Valley, AZ; Tammy Creed Dye (Marcus) of Arkansas City, KS; April Weldon of California and William Weldon.
Also surviving are great nieces and nephews: Peyton Wear and Henry Wear of Nashville, TN; Beatrice Wear and George Wear of Annapolis, MD; Gabriel Vanarsdale, Logan Vanarsdale and Julia Vanarsdale of Santan Valley, AZ as well as many cousins from the large Frey, Bruner, Teter and Thompson families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phillip Teter and Faye Thompson Teter, sister-in-law, Bonnie Teter Creed and brother-in-law, Claren Creed.
Dee will be deeply missed by family and friends and all whose life she touched.
The family would like to express appreciation to the many neighbors and health care professionals who helped Delores throughout her long illness. Memorials may be made to the Augusta United Methodist Church, 2420 N Ohio St, Augusta, KS 67010.
