David Irvin
Palmer
June 22, 1954 — August 2, 2025
El Dorado
David Irvin Palmer, 71, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on August 2, 2025, in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a joyful spirit. Born on June 22, 1954, in El Dorado to Irvin and Jessie Palmer, David grew up surrounded by the warmth of a loving family and the values that would define his own approach to life.
A graduate of Circle High School, David's journey began with Union Tank, where he started his working life shortly after graduation. He later transitioned to Maximum Outdoor Tractor, where his skills and steadfast dedication led him to become one of their expert heavy equipment mechanics. David took pride in his work and was known among his colleagues for both his reliability and his quick wit.
Later in life, David was blessed to reconnect with a high school sweetheart, a serendipitous reunion that blossomed into a lasting, loving relationship. Together, they built a life filled with companionship and shared joy, a testament to the enduring power of love found anew.
Known for his generous heart, David rarely let an opportunity to help another pass him by. If someone was in need, he was there with a steady hand and a ready smile. When not lending a hand, David found great pleasure in simple joys—taking his Harley out for a spin on open roads, casting a fishing line into peaceful waters, or losing himself in the lively strains of bluegrass music. Among friends, David could always be counted on for a well-timed joke and a burst of laughter that could light up any room.
David's affection for animals was evident in the special bond he shared with his beloved dogs, Troubles and Sadie Girl, who were never far from his side and whose antics brought him great joy.
David is survived by his partner, Karen Pence, and his brother, JD Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Jessie Palmer, as well as his brothers, Danny and Duane.
Those who knew David will remember him for his boundless willingness to help, his cheerful humor, and the warmth he brought into every gathering. He leaves behind memories to be cherished, stories to be retold, and a legacy of kindness that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
