EAST, DAVID LEROY, 83 , passed away on December 22, 2020 at ComfortCare Homes in Wichita. David was born in Waldron, Kansas on September 18, 1937 to Bud Rafael and Floydia (Welch) East. He graduated from Kiowa High School and moved to Wichita were he met Marilyn Ruth Grier. They later married on July 24, 1957 and he soon started East Heating and Air. As a tinkerer at heart he later started Ark Valley Sheet Metal and through owning his own businesses he traveled the world building heat and air systems for churches with Roe Messner. David enjoyed fishing and family time and his trips to Table Rock Lake every year; he always said he wouldn't put his boat in a Kansas Lake. His passion was music and especially playing the piano and guitar. He would always be playing with his family in a band come christmas time and even after his dementia diagnosis he was a very skilled musician and would often play two keyboards at once; an even greater feat since David couldn't read sheet music.

D avid is survived by his children Tracy Barr and Mark East; siblings Gerald, Sue Buddy and Clint; grandchildren Michelle, J.D., Megan, Matt, Brett, Devin, Shawnee, Dillan, Alex and Kevin; 8 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn and son Deric East.

S ervices are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mt. Hope, Kansas.
