Danny Leroy White , a dedicated diesel mechanic who found joy in his work and life, passed away on August 15th, 2023 at the age of 60. Born on August 21, 1962, in Harrison, Arkansas, Danny was the beloved son of Willard Hugh and Iva Marietta "Mary" {Daniels} White. He grew up in El Dorado and Towanda where he attended Oil Hill Grade School and graduated from Circle High.
Even during his high school years, Danny's passion for mechanics was evident as he began his journey as a diesel mechanic. Unruh, Norris and Wichita Kenworth, where he made lasting contributions and earned the respect of his colleagues.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Danny's heart belonged to his family. He met Brenda Dowell, "the girl next door," during 9th grade, and their love story blossomed over the years. Outside of work, Danny embraced life's adventures with zest. He enjoyed hunting deer, casting his line for fishing, mastering the art of bow hunting and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was participating in the Prairie Port Festival's mud volleyball, where he and his team consistently displayed their competitive spirit, often claiming the top spot. Their victories extended to the Mulvane Old Settlers tournament, where they brought home the coveted first-place trophy.
Sports also held a special place in Danny's heart. He cheered passionately for the University of Kansas basketball team and the Kansas City Chiefs football team, showing his unwavering support through both triumphs and challenges. Danny was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering pursuit of perfection. His hugs, kisses, and infectious laughter brought comfort and joy to all fortunate enough to be in his presence.
Danny's caring nature extended to his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, his devoted son Jared White and daughter-in-law Makayla Stafford, his cherished mother Mary White, his brothers Donald White, David White (Jackie), and Darrell White (Dorothy), his sister Denise Vogt (Matt), and his adored grandchildren Corey White, Nova White, and Aria Stafford.
