Daniel "Dan" P.I. Stucky, 81, formerly of El Dorado, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2018 at The Cedars, McPherson, Kansas.

A gathering will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at Heritage Funeral Home located at 206 E. Central Ave, El Dorado. Celebration of his life will be held at the Burns Countryside Church of rural Burns. The memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7. Interment will be in the First Mennonite/Burns Countryside cemetery. Lunch will follow at noon at the Burns Community Center.

D an's life began December 22, 1936 as the 10th child, the son of Peter T. and Ida J.C. (Gehring) Stucky in the rural home of Moundridge, Kansas.

H e graduated from Burns High School in 1955. He loved basketball and played on State Championship team in 1953 and he was an avid KU fan. He attended one year of college at Bethel, Newton, Kansas. On December 6, 1960 at the First Mennonite Church of Burns, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Alice (Myers), his one and only love and the romance never ended. He was a devoted husband for 57 1/2 years.

T hey made their home one mile west of Burns on the farm, where they were blessed with three children and was able to raise the children on the farm and before moving to Peabody, Kansas. He was a devoted father and his greatest joy was his family. Dan was a quiet man, sweet and ornery, with a smirk grin. He will be missed forever. He retired from the school district 398 Peabody-Burns, Peabody, Kansas and retired from Peabody Housing Authority/Weigard-Omega Management.

D an's loving family includes: his wife Alice Stucky of the home, one son Dale (Molly) of McPherson, and his daughter Darla (Mark) Jones of El Dorado, brother Silas (Edna) of Elbing, sisters-in-law Faye Stucky of Peabody and Ruby Stucky of Newton; brother-in-law Wayne Ott of Newton, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

H e was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Kay, his parents, and 7 brothers;  Samuel, Jonathan(Jonas), David, Paul, Philip, John, Joseph, and one sister, Esther Ott, and a host of relatives and friends.
