Christina Louise
Cooper
February 4, 1957 — January 26, 2026
El Dorado
Christina "Chris" Louise Cooper, 68, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. She was born February 4, 1957, in El Dorado to Arlo and Leona Mann.
Chris attended Jefferson Elementary School, El Dorado Junior High, and El Dorado High School, where she truly shined. She graduated as Valedictorian, was crowned Prom Queen, and participated in track—early signs of the determination, confidence, and spark that would define her life.
After high school, Chris followed her adventurous heart. Her love of travel took her all over the country, embracing life freely and fully, collecting experiences and stories along the way. In the 1990s, her life took a new and meaningful turn when she became a mother, welcoming two children into her world. In 1994, she returned to El Dorado to put down roots, dedicating herself to raising her children and providing for them through hard work and perseverance while holding many different jobs.
A chance decision to hire Tim Cooper for tree work around her home reconnected Chris with a childhood friend. That reunion blossomed into a deep and loving relationship and eventually marriage. Tim not only became her husband but also a devoted father to her children, whom he loved and proudly adopted. Together, they built a home and shared 31 years of life, love, and partnership.
Chris was known for her love of cooking and her open-door hospitality—family gatherings often centered around her table and her meals. She enjoyed her favorite TV shows, creating art, listening to music, and spending time with those she loved. She was "NaNa" to everyone, taking immense pride in her grandchildren and supporting them in anything she could. She also cherished her beloved dog, Chica.
Sweet yet feisty, Chris was deeply caring and loving. She chose kindness, stayed clear of negativity, and lived with a warmth that made others feel welcome and valued.
Chris is survived by her husband, Tim Cooper; her son, Wade Cooper; her brothers, Max Mann and Dwayne Mann; and her cherished grandchildren, Lillian Cooper, Carmine Cooper, Noella Cooper, Swayzie Cooper, Sloane Cooper, Jackson Lea, Nellieon Williams, her nieces and nephews thought of her as a second mother, Cameron McClintock, Sarah Weaver, and others who lovingly called her NaNa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlo and Leona Mann; her sister, Arlona McClintock; her son, Nick Cooper; her grandson, Kayden Cooper; and her best friend, Lance Garland.
Chris will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her fierce love for family, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged.
