Charles W. "Chuck" Taylor , born on April 23, 1947, in El Dorado, Kansas, lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a deep love for his family and hobbies. Chuck passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, at Sunflower Care Home in El Dorado, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Chuck was the son of Walter Lee and Carol Pearl (Evans) Taylor. Growing up in El Dorado, he formed lifelong connections that shaped his character and future. After graduating from El Dorado High School, Chuck found his calling in skilled trades. He began his career in the aircraft industry before moving to Union Tank as a welder. His strong work ethic and determination ultimately led him back to aircraft work, where he remained until his well-earned retirement.

In 1965, Chuck married Brenda Ladonna Jones, and together they raised six children. Chuck embraced fatherhood with pride and joy, guiding his children with both firmness and a playful spirit. Though his marriage to Brenda ended in 1994, Chuck found love again with Jeannie Mae Bradshaw and they were wed in December of 1995.

Chuck was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the outdoors and adventure. Hunting and skeet shooting were among his favorite pastimes, where he bonded with friends and family. He had a love for all things mechanical, whether it was watching auto racing, riding motorcycles, or enjoying the open road in his beloved GMC "Jimmy." These moments of thrill brought a youthful spark to Chuck's life.

Known for his humor and lightheartedness, Chuck loved to joke around and brighten the spirits of those around him. His laughter could fill a room, and his quick wit kept everyone on their toes. He had a stubborn streak, but it was often tempered by his warm heart and willingness to lend a hand to those he cared about.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Jeannie; his sons Gary (Larri) Taylor, Jerry Farner, Scott (Melannie) Farner, and Duane (Julie) Farner; his daughters Sheri Taylor and Cindy (Patrick) Bauer; and his sister Dixie (David) Frost. His memory will be cherished by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless other family members and friends. Chuck's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his love will be carried forward by those whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Carol, and his brother, Walter Lee "John" Taylor.

A visitation to honor Chuck's life will take place on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home 206 E. Cental Ave., El Dorado. Due to construction the funeral home is only accessible from the North at 1st and Vine or 1st and Griffith.

A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Towanda Cemetery, where Chuck will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made in Chuck's name to The Alzheimer's Association.

Though Chuck has left this world, his laughter, love, and spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew him best. Rest in peace, Chuck Taylor, knowing that you lived a life full of love, joy, and adventure.
