Charles Ray
Smith
November 29, 1982 — February 10, 2026
Ponca City
Family and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Charles "Charlie" Ray Smith, who passed away at the age of 43 on February 10, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by his loved ones.
Charlie was a devoted father to his greatest accomplishment, Maddie, and his bonus daughter, Kenzie; they brought him immense pride and happiness. He was a resilient man who overcame life's many obstacles, fighting hard for everything he had and working multiple side jobs—including his favorite role as a motocross flagman—to ensure his family was always provided for.
Known as the "Crappie King," Charlie found peace on the shoreline. Whether he was alone or with friends and family, fishing was his sanctuary. He was always eager to share his knowledge and "honey holes" with his three girls or anyone else who joined him.
Charlie is survived by his girlfriend, Haley; his children, Kenzie and Maddie (his "Lil mini Charlie"); his brothers, Steven and Johnathon; his half-brother, Nathan Stephens; and his father, Paul. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Brisco, and his sister, Stacey.
Charlie will be deeply missed but never forgotten. With every cast of a fishing line, his memory will live on.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
