Carole Lynne Morrison, 75 , passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with her family by her side. Carole Lynne Hastings was born on October 29th 1946 in Longmont Colorado.  She married Ivan Morrison on July 3rd 1970. She is survived by her husband Ivan, sons Brett and Brian, and her five grandchildren Braden, Garren, Hadley, Kate, and Norah. Carole loved going to church, being with her family, working in libraries, and making crafts ... especially hand made cards. With more than 30 years experience to her credit, Carole Lynne Morrison was retired, having excelled as a paraprofessional at Rose Hill High School from 1991 to 2007. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of volunteer at Rose Hill High School and Elementary School from 1988 to 1991. She further worked as a volunteer and an aide for the Burlington Elementary School in Longmont, Colorado, between 1980 and 1987. Ms. Morrison additionally excelled as a bookkeeper for Dan's Nautilus and the Citizen Newspaper in 1980 and 1978, respectively.

P reviously, Ms. Morrison served at the Mountain States Children's Home as a secretary and a bookkeeper from 1969 to 1976. Moreover she was active as a switchboard operator for Zellner Hall at Abilene Christian University from 1967 to 1969. She began her career as a food server for Catchings Cafeteria at the aforementioned university from 1964 to 1967. During this time, Ms. Morrison pursued an education at Abilene Christian University, earning a Bachelor of Science in education in 1969.

B eyond her responsibilities within this field, Ms. Morrison has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. From 2009 to 2015, she contributed as a ladies Bible class teacher in Andover, Kansas. A parent volunteer for the school improvement leadership team at Rose Hill High School from 1993 to 200, she flourished as a volunteer for the clothing giveaway program from 2015 to 2019. Ms. Morrison found success as a speaker and lecturer as well, providing her wealth of knowledge at retreats and lectureships for the Akron Church of Christ in 1994, the Winfield Church of Christ in 1995, the Andover Church of Christ in 1995, and the Rose Hill Public Library Board of Directors from 2009 to 2015. Furthermore, Ms. Morrison was a volunteer for the Rose Hill Stoll Media Center in 1987 and the Rose Hill Community Library from 2004 to 2009, for which she was the vice president from 2005 to 2009.

I n light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Morrison has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. In 1983, she was recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman in America. Likewise, Ms. Morrison was selected for inclusion in the 22nd edition of Who's Who of American Women and multiple editions of the Who's Who in the Midwest.

I nspired to become an educator be her mother, Calvena Hastings, who wanted her to seek a higher education despite not having the resources to do so, Ms. Morrison recalls her experiences in the classroom including staying after school, cleaning the chalkboard, and grading papers, to have cemented the direction of her career. Enjoying helping people, she was motivated by a number of mentors, including her father, Joseph Hastings, her sister, Anne Reid, Janie Barnard and Blanche Boggs. She is especially proud of her two wonderful children, Brett and Brian, who have become active, productive citizens.

V isitation will be held on Monday, April 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Andover Church of Christ, 802 N. Andover Rd., Andover. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m. also at the Andover Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery, Douglass, Kansas.
