Brigitte Linden died unexpectedly April 2, 2022 at her home.

She was born December 3, 1957 in Brussels, Belgium the daughter of German parents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Ingrid (Bund) Dirksen. Her father's job with Bayer took them across the world.

Brigitte attended school in Belgium, New Zealand and Mississauga Ontario Canada. She changed her German citizenship for a Canadian one to attain a double degree from the University of Toronto, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. She was fluent in German, French and English. She was a substitute French teacher, moved to Sweden, then taught in Timmins Ontario. She attained permanent resident status following her parents to Leawood, Kansas.

Her Sears job in Overland Park paid for a Masters from KU. She proudly maintained her Kansas eligibility in LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker since 1990, working in hospitals and prison. Her best job was caring for seniors.

Her passion was musical entertainment singing foreign folk songs and hymns. She was a GAA member – German America Club, and was certified as a middle school teacher in Wichita. Her interest in culture and travel lead her to taking cruise bookings for Celebrity – Royal Caribbean.

She and her husband, Robert Linden, took 21 cruises together. They met at Prairie Village Presbyterian, lived at the Country Club Plaza and was married in Santa Clara, California 32 years last August.

She is survived by brother, Harald (Carmen) Dirksen, Leverkusen, Germany;

Aunt Brigitte Barclay, Winter Park, Florida; First Cousin, Steve Barclay, Florence, Kentucky; First Cousin, Michael Barclay, Deltona, Florida;

Step Son, Michael Linden, Kansas City, KS;

Step Son, Mark Linden, (daughters,  Addison & Clara),

Step Daughter, Melissa (Jesse) Fuqua, (daughters, Maeve, Jasmyn & Meadow) and son, JJ Fuqua all of Colorado Springs, CO.

Mother in Law, Rosemarie Linden and Sister in law, Kathy Linden, Santa Clara, CA.

The Celebration of Life will include Pastor Dan Myers of Holy Cross Lutheran at 1 PM Saturday April 30 ^th at Andover Senior Center, 410 Lioba Dr, Andover, KS.
