Bradley Jay Kuehn, 72, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, at his home in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by the love of his life, his wife Dixie. Born on November 17, 1950, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Dr. Gerald A. and Gladys L. (Held) Kuehn, Brad's life was marked by adventure, laughter, and deep personal connections.

Brad's early years were shaped by his father's military service, leading the family to settle in Hastings, NE, when Brad was just a baby. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1969 with his future wife and companion, Dixie Gilbert.  Starting in his early elementary school years in Hastings, he forged friendships that lasted his entire life.

After high school, Brad pursued higher education at Wesleyan before earning his BA of Science from the University of Lincoln. His professional journey spanned various industries, from fiber optics installation to real estate, eventually finding his calling at the Kansas/Nebraska Natural Gas Company. However, the entrepreneurial spirit within him led him to establish his own business as a Landman (BJK LAND SERVICES, INC), skillfully negotiating oil and gas leases with area farmers.

Golf was not just a hobby for Brad; it was a passion that brought him joy and camaraderie. Spending time with his buddies on the golf course was his favorite pastime, a place where he found solace and laughter.

In a twist of fate at his 45th high school reunion, Brad reunited with Dixie. Their connection blossomed after Brad offered to drive her to one of the reunion gatherings. Known for his jovial and happy demeanor, Brad never took life too seriously, much to Dixie's gentle chagrin. His infectious laughter, coupled with an innate ability to strike up conversations with anyone, earned him a reputation for being approachable and friendly. Once you spoke to Brad, you became a friend for life.

A loyal and cherished friend, Brad worked diligently to maintain close connections with a select group of individuals. After relocating to Kansas, he discovered a daily meeting spot at a local coffee shop, where he forged enduring friendships with a new circle of friends.

Brad leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted wife Dixie, stepdaughter Shelly Sanders, three grandchildren, nephew Tim Ott, and numerous other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Jerry and Gladys, and his sister, Jane McCollum.

A memorial service to celebrate Brad's life will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home, 1225 N. Elm Ave., Hastings, NE, followed by a time for fellowship in which we will convene at a local restaurant to toast Brad's life. Brad will be interred at Parkview Cemetery alongside his parents, leaving a lasting imprint in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
