Kramer, Billie Ruth, 85, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, the morning of May 17, 2019 in Overland Park, Kansas.
F uneral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 24 th , at the Faith Baptist Church, 417 W. Central, Andover, KS. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10. Interment will be at Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover, immediately following services.
B illie was born to Henry Harold and Avesta Ruth (Rowe) Way in Harper County, Oklahoma on September 2, 1933. In her early years, Billie lived in Oklahoma, southwest Missouri, and later Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from Wichita East High School in 1950. She married Bernard Kramer on February 16, 1951 in Wichita and resided in Andover from 1962 through 2016. She worked doing mechanical drawing when her oldest children were young, cooked for the Andover Elementary School Lunch Program for a few years, and worked as a seasonal employee for H&R Block preparing taxes (and often volunteered help) for several years. Billie retired after 13 years with the Coleman Company Customer Service Department.
I n 2017, Billie moved to Overland Park, Kansas, where she lived the remainder of her life. Billie also enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and she and Bernard were fond of square dancing and gardening. She was always busy with projects, including being a regular volunteer with the Butler County Election Board. Later on in life, she became highly involved with the Andover Senior Center. Through her last days, Billie fought the progression of Parkinson's with exceptional determination and fortitude.
B illie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bernard; 5 children: Patty (Steve Weintraub) Kramer, Ben (Marilyn) Kramer, Karen (David) Walters, Keith (Terry) Kramer, and Kenneth (Debbie) Kramer; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
