Audeen "Susie"
Lee Karst
February 6, 1946 — July 26, 2025
El Dorado
AUDEEN LEE "SUSIE" KARST, 79 , passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at Lakepoint Nursing and Rehab in El Dorado, Kansas. Though her time on this earth has come to an end, the love she poured into the lives of her family and friends will remain a lasting light.
Born on February 6, 1946, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Arthur and Beth {Pentz} Hayes, Susie spent her life rooted in the values of kindness, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. She attended El Dorado High School, where she enjoyed dancing and tap—a joyful spirit she carried throughout her life.
After graduation, Susie began working at the courthouse and shortly after, started her most cherished role—building a family. Her journey took her from Kansas to San Diego and back again to El Dorado, always guided by love and resilience. She held several positions throughout her life, working at Pester Refinery and later alongside her husband as the bookkeeper for their family-owned business, Angleton Garage. With a spirit of determination and creativity, Susie also started her own venture, "Susie's Laminating," which she operated with pride and care before closing it to take on a job with Headstart.
Susie was a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures—fishing on a quiet day, indulging in her favorite Reese's Pieces, coloring vibrant pages, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, and playing Bingo with friends. She was outgoing and always willing to lend a hand to others, even if it meant sacrificing her own needs. Her giving heart and selflessness touched countless lives and left an imprint of compassion wherever she went.
Above all, Susie's heart belonged to her family. She delighted in the laughter and warmth of time spent with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment and memory. Her unconditional love, strength, and presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Susie is survived by her devoted son Kevin; beloved grandchildren Dylan Karst, Porsha Karst, Shelby Karst, and Carlie Karst; great-grandson Elijah Kincade; sister Pat Hill (Garnet); brother in law John Scribner and her cherished dog, Swisher. She is now reunited with her parents, Arthur and Beth; son Randy Karst her sister Mickie Scribner; and her dearly loved dog, Couda.
A graveside service honoring Susie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, 725 Boyer Road, El Dorado, KS 67042. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Elks Lodge #1407, PO Box 70, El Dorado, Kansas 67042
Though Susie has left this world, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the strength she embodied will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
