Allmond, Alma Colleen (Rucker), 87 , passed away peacefully on July 5, 2021 in El Dorado, Kansas,  On September 9, 1933, Alma was born in the home of her parents Ormal Rucker and Clara (Koeppen) Rucker in Wichita, Kansas.

She graduated from East High School in Wichita, where she met the love of her life, James Walter Allmond.  They were married on January 18, 1953.  Together they raised 5 kids.  Alma was an amazing housewife for most of her life.  After Jim retired, they began to travel together.  They saw much of the country and did a lot of fishing along the way.  Alma did work for a short time as a secretary but found a passion for volunteer work at Coastal Bend Hospital in Aransas Pass, TX to be very rewarding.

Besides traveling, Alma enjoyed tending to her flowers, collecting dolphin figurines and music boxes, and playing dice and cards with her friends and family.  Spending time with the grandchildren was very important to her.  Alma enjoyed their music programs, sporting events, and birthday parties.  She loved her family dearly.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband; oldest son, James; two brothers and three sisters.

Her survivors include children, Connie (Richard) Fagala of Denver, Colorado, Tony (Connie) Allmond of El Dorado, Steve (Janelle) Allmond of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, Dan Allmond of Cleburne, Texas; sisters, Pat Lee of Augusta, Kansas and Evelyn Asbell of San Antonio, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Alma's life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the El Dorado Senior Center, 210 E. 2nd Ave., El Dorado.

Family asks for memorial donations to be made to Interim Hospice of El Dorado in lieu of flowers.
